I have got an old filling which suddenly fell out. After searching for a dentist in the area that I could trust, I’m glad I chose this clinic. This was my first visit and was an emergency appointment.
I came back on my second visit to do my check up and cleaning.
Dr. Kiri was very thorough and attentive. She took the time to assess my dental condition and explain everything before starting any treatment, which I really appreciated. It made the entire experience reassuring from the start.
She handled deep cleaning extremely well and ensuring that I am comfortable all throughout.
She also gave clear and practical advice on maintaining good oral hygiene. I would definitely recommend this clinic over and over again!! ✨

Took me time to find a dentist around the area that will satisfy my expectation, and this clinic did!
Dr. Kiri was very good at the procedures she did for me. She took my dental profiling, check my dental health first before touching anything - this is something I appreciate so I know I was in goods hands from the start.
I have an ultra sensitive teeth esp. during cleaning, but she did splendid job deep cleaning my teeth. She gave me heaps of recommendations to maintain good oral health.

I somehow chipped my front tooth on Sunday morning and was terrified. I sent a text message to the practice- they asked me to send photos and answered all my (many) questions patiently and thoroughly, and booked me in to see Dr himani first thing Mon morning. Both her and her dental assistant were absolutely wonderful! She fixed my front teeth and made them look better than before! Im even grateful I chipped it, because now they look so good. She talked me through all my various options in the future, without pressing me in any specific direction. She listened to my concerns and didn't dismiss anything.
I have been to various dentists before, and this was by far my best experience!

When we moved to the area we enrolled with Howick Dental Surgery. From our first appointment the staff were very friendly and accommodating. If there are any issues other than a routine checkup Sarab on reception always gets us an appointment with Dr Kiri as soon as possible, and she always fits us in ,discusses the issues, and gives us options, and never does anything 'for the sake of it' . We are very happy with the service we receive and prices are reasonable.

These guys are excellent! I had to get my wisdom teeth removed over the Christmas period, and after being given their number by Middlemore I was able to get in touch and received a prompt response. They were very apologetic about the waiting times, even though it was no stress to me at all.
The whole team was incredibly attentive, kind, and friendly. I also received a call from Dr Himani the following day after the extraction to check how I was doing, which I thought was really thoughtful and much appreciated.

I can’t thank Dr Himani and her team enough. My son was in pain during the Christmas period, when it’s really hard to find a dentist, especially one who accepts kids. Despite being very busy, Dr Himani kindly agreed to see him and arranged treatment as soon as possible. The clinic even called me the next day to bring him in.
Dr Himani was gentle, caring, and very professional. My son felt no pain during or after the treatment and is doing great now. The reception staff were also very friendly, respectful, and empathetic, which made the whole experience much less stressful.

You simply would not be able to find better dental clinic than this one in Auckland. I have 3x fillings and 1 implant done. The staff was very supportive throughout the whole process. Dr Himani was very gentle and respectful, specially I am being a very anxious person.

I was quite a difficult patient and very anxious due to previous bad experiences elsewhere but by the time I had spent with Dr Himani i felt heard, healed and happy.

Great dental clinic, with a friendly receptionist. My dentist was also excellent in ensuring that I felt comfortable, was likely the most positive dentist experience I’ve had.
Edit: I have also gotten four wisdom teeth removed by Dr. Himani, and she made sure that the experience was as comfortable as possible for me. I am very satisfied with the procedure, and would highly recommend!

I had a bad experience with dentists in the past, so I was very careful when choosing one after moving here. I’m so glad I found Dr. Lizelle Borges. I have very sensitive teeth and gum disease, and scaling is usually very uncomfortable for me, but she did it so gently that it became a pleasant experience. Highly recommended.

One star due to disappointing and unsympathetic interactions with the receptionist, Sarab.
A month ago, I got my wisdom tooth removed. The surgery itself was fine, I did feel pain around my jaw during the surgery but aside from that Dr. Himani did a good job.
Post-surgery is where everything went downhill.
1-3 days later, my pain did not improve at all. I knew something was wrong so I tried to schedule an urgent follow up appointment. Sarab struggled to get me an appointment due to short-staff. I understand, but there should be a contingency plan for situations where patients get post-surgery complications.
I was finally seen by Dr. Kiri and she said I had an infection, if my symptoms worsen she told me to go A&E. I realised how serious the situation was so I told Sarab and he had a look of disbelief (as if I’m lying). I then booked my next follow up 10 days later and Sarab also asked if I wanted to process a second Southern Cross insurance claim for a future appointment so that I use all my dental benefits before my policy renews, I said no (this is very unprofessional).
Before my second follow up appointment, I started to get more worried because I developed ear pain. I tried again to move my appointment earlier and my conversation with Sarab was dis-heartening. He said statements like, “my recommendation is that you wait until next week.. your symptoms are normal… you know you’re not the only one who gets pain”. He also said my pain was “impossible to happen, it’s impossible for you to have an infection” after I told him that I’m trying to recover from one.. I was speechless after that last comment because I was silently crying, I did not feel any sympathy for all the pain I was feeling.
After that call with Sarab, I decided to no longer pick up the calls or reply to messages. I would rather talk to an actual dentist and have them give me their recommendations instead.
Don’t contact me after reading this, all you need to know is that I still have a large hole, I’m still in pain and I’ve gone back to my original dentist.
I also don’t like being asked to give a google review, and then being followed up again to submit it. I felt pushed to give 5 stars because everyone was doing it. Now that’s different.

I originally ended up at Howick Dental Surgery after I couldnt get an appointment with my usual clinic - and I'm glad it worked out that way - because I ended up making the switch!

At first I was scared, I was petrified….. yes the opening line to “I will survive” but also the anxiety of going to the dentist and especially one you haven’t been to before. With a mouthful of ouch and issues I’ve just got back from my third visit. I’ve had a filling and a deep clean. A tooth pulled out and now a crown. And booked myself in for more. I’m not a sucker for punishment. I just appreciate the care and efficiency Dr Himani provides when she is sorting out my teeth and gums after years of neglect. She knows her stuff and they have all the gadgets to make miracles. I highly recommend their friendly, professional service.

I never go to the dentist because I’m pretty nervous when it comes to dentists. I finally had enough of the pain from my wisdom teeth. Dr Himani and the team kept me calm the entire time. Very understanding towards my nerves and made me feel safe. I had my top wisdoms removed. Once the anaesthetic kicked in Dr Himani had my teeth out in no time at all. I would say the injections hurt more than this extraction. What an amazing job. I will be going back for future dental work for sure. I’m considering getting my bottom wisdoms out now too.

Chipped a tooth and went in for a filling. They slot me in the next day. The chip was small enough they tried to just sand it smooth to save me some money. After sanding they realised it was bigger than expected and went with the filling. I appreciated the attempt to save me some money.

I usually get bit anxious at the dentist, but she was super calm, gentle and explained everything in a way that put me at ease. Highly recommend Howick Dental Surgery to anyone looking for a professional experience. I have had a number of issues with my teeth of late and they have bent over backwards to accommodate my needs. Receptionist is amazing - found slots to get me in and Dr Himani extracted a tricky tooth explaining every step in the process. I have also had work with Drs Kiri and Lizelle. Came in with a couple concerns about my teeth, turns out I needed to get a root canal on one and a couple of fillings in the others.

You simply will NOT find better service than this. At first I was astounded by the amount of 5 stars reviews this place had, then once I went for my surgery I understood why.
From the inquiry call, Sarab was friendly and helpful - I was initially considering going to an official 'Oral Surgeon' for my wisdom teeth extraction, but Sarab reassured me of Dr Himani's capabilities without pressuring me at all. At my consultation meeting, Dr Himani was incredibly kind, willing to answer all my questions and thoroughly explained everything, putting me at ease about the procedure.
On surgery day, I was very anxious, but Dr Himani and the team kindly allowed me to bring a support person into the room. They were extremely gentle and patient, stopping for breaks to make sure I was feeling okay and making encouraging comments to help me relax. Despite my rather complicated case of horizontal wisdom teeth, Dr Himani expertly removed them all albeit in 50 pieces!
After the procedure, their aftercare was impeccable. I was able to text after hours with any concerns and Sarab would reply promptly. Even days later, Sarab would check in to ask about my pain and swelling.

Learnt a lesson though.Dont necessarily take the cheapest quote unless you have thoroughly checked.
They were $250 cheaper than clinic down the road who quoted totally sedated prior to any works.Here I was injected twice after 10 mins of procedure also with the injections prior.
Had another top 6 removed 5 months ago without the slightest pain.
The young owner who acts as the front desk secretary makes out he doesn't know much and I'd go along with that.Just keeps an eye on the appointments and money coming in.

Wow! I am fully satisfied with my dental treatment today. Lovely team, highly recommend this place. If you have a dentist phobia, please get your treatment done form Dr. Himani. I have had a very bad relationship with dentists, due to a bad experience in the past. But Dr Himani understands my dental anxiety, gives great explanation of the dental treatment, very efficient and kind. She always keeps me updated before the start of any procedure.

First of all, I want to say thanks to all the Howick Dental Surgery Team. I am always very anxious to go to the dentist. My visit to your dental surgery was really good. Dr. Himani was my dentist, she was well experienced and explained everything to me beforehand, I got all of my wisdom teeth extracted, she charged me $550 per tooth, I had a quotation to do the same job for $1200 per tooth. I feel this clinic thinks about patients' best interest.

Hands on heart, best dental experience ever. I am so impressed, with my overall experience at Howick Dental Surgery. I had some fillings, and two wisdom teeth removed, and cleaning done. Dentist was very gentle, and the whole procedures were pain free. Would recommend this place to anyone who wants good quality care at an affordable price. I am going next week for same day crown (CEREC). The dental equipment’s I saw are definitely best in the market. Crown on same day, no temporary filing etc, required wao!

I had a great experience at the clinic — the staff were extremely cordial and helpful. Despite my last-minute request for a wisdom tooth extraction, Dr. Himani kindly accommodated me, understanding the pain I was in and how difficult the weekend would have been otherwise.

Being a senior citizen who, in the past has had very few visits to the dentist, I was nervous about my appointment to have 2 fillings (1 large one) and extraction of a tooth that had rotted to the roots.

I have a good and long history with this surgery dating back to the 1980's. My current dentist is Kiri Wakefield who has cared for my teeth for a number of years.
Yesterday Kiri repaired my broken tooth and made a crown for it at the same appointment. It is by nature of the procedure a longish process, but I experienced no pain after the injection, and felt relaxed and confident throughout the entire treatment. Kiri was professional but gentle, and reassured me throughout by checking to see if I needed a break, and explaining where we were at, as she worked on my tooth. I felt very safe and knew I was in very good and capable hands. The tooth is now not only matching my other teeth perfectly but feels so comfortable in every way.
When the tooth broke last week, I was given an emergency appointment and the tooth was examined by another dentist as Kiri was on holiday. Himani reassured me a crown was still possible and after checking it carefully, put in a temporary filling and an appointment was made for this week with Kiri.
The charge for the crown was reasonable and I was not charged for the first check last week. I could not be more pleased with the help I received and the dental treatment is first class.

I went for dental check up and scale and polish. Dr Lizelle gave me a thorough explanation of state of my teeth and actions to take. She did a great job with scale and polish as my teeth didn't feel sensitive afterwards like you sometimes do with some harsh dental treatments. Would highly recommend

Had my second visit today and just as impressed as I was with the first one. Last one was a very tricky filling about 6mths ago and it has proven successful. Bad toothache today and everyone at practice so caring and helpful. Would highly recommend them.

I'd like to give Dr Sharma and Tracey a massive thank you ! I have ASD and anxiety and also have a major phobia of dentists. I messaged Dr Sharma around 4am when I was experiencing excruciating pains. They were the only clinic that responded whilst the other "24/7" dentists haven't even got back to me. She arranged to see me at 8am. She was very quick and efficient and found the cause of my significant pain within seconds of taking a look. Due to my phobia I was willing to tolerate the pain rather than have my wisdom tooth taken out but Dr Sharma explained that it was better to get it done than to tolerate pain.. so she offered lots of gentle encouragement rather than pressure to extract my tooth and make money. She was very very gentle, patient and kind towards someone like me .. and so was Tracey. What I loved about Dr Sharma was that she didn't look at my phobia as me being overdramatic.. but she truly empathized with my trauma. She was just lovely . I'm feeling better than before- I was having 10/10 pain that radiated towards my head and ears .. Dr Sharma also gave really good aftercare advice and I'm really glad I came across this clinic. Would recommend to fellow dental phobes..
Just one recommendation- it would really be nice if someday you guys could introduce gas/oral sedation at least .. not a biggie but definitely could help patients who need to get the "edge" out of their treatments.

I am incredibly grateful to Dr Himani and her team for the urgent care I received. Despite being in significant pain from a dental infection, they made time to see me on short notice and treated me with such compassion. Just two days later, the pain was completely gone, and I’m feeling back to normal. Their expertise and kindness truly made a difference. Himani and Sarab are the lovely couple who owns this practice. While Himani is a very knowledgeable dentist who treats every patient with empathy and has a great clinical knowledge. She makes sure the entire procedure is done at ease and never rushed into it. My experience with them was absolutely fabulous. Sarab runs the admin side of things and makes sure that the patient leaves the place with a happy smile 😊 This clinic truely felt homely and the staff are super friendly and helpful. I had a general check up with Lizelle - a dentist I had not had before. She was really good, competent and explained things really well. She gave me options for a cracked tooth. It is a definitely excellent dentist surgery. Two times I extracted one wisdeom tooth and one another bad tooth. Everything was going smoothly and each time it cost 30min. Dr. HIMANI SHARMA is nice and an expert.

Walking into the reception area had a serene and warm welcome feeling a beautiful view overlooking the baby blue ocean side. My son needed urgent removal of his tooth as it was decayed. My husband called HDS, they gave us a booking with an hour.
Excellent assistance, advice and explanation was provided to us by Dr Borges upon meeting us. She very carefully and professionally extracted my sons baby tooth and was indeed very patient and gentle with him. She explained the costing before starting the extraction, she mentioned $70 for consult and $50 for baby tooth extraction. I agreed to the pricing and was happy that it didn't cost a fortune, I even inquired about having my teeth cleaned as I was happy with the service and pricing, Dr Borges mentioned it would cost about $150 and they could be cheaper deals.
However upon payment at the receptionist he charged me $150 for my sons extraction(I mentioned the doctor said it's $120, he said its $150) I then asked him about the cleaning and he mentioned $199...I wasn't to happy with that. There is clearly some miscommunication.
Nevertheless, highly recommended, as they assisted when other dental care services couldn't!

The dentist tried to sell me an unnecessary procedure of $6000 over a cheaper alternative option for $300. Turns out I didn’t even need the expensive procedure. Lucky I was firm with my choice and chose the 20 times cheaper alternative despite her trying a few times to convince me to choose the expensive option. Her friendly/bubbly and warm demeanor for the last 15 minutes quickly turned to neutral once I made my choice to go the cheaper alternative. But hey we all know that some dental and medical doctors like to perform unnecessary procedures just to pocket extra cash, just gotta keep a look out and know when to say no. The procedure itself was okay but still 1 star because imagine the number of people that’s been ripped off here buying her $6000 procedure when they didn’t even need it.

I returned from overseas trip and needed urgent molar extraction after an abscess formed under a tooth. With no available appointment slots due to staff shortages they elected to slot me in during their much needed lunch break and performed an extraction. Right from a warm welcome on a very frosty morning to leaving all the staff were friendly, informative and had my well being as the number one priority.
Dentistry has changed so much with numbing gel on gums before the anaesthetic was given. No pain felt at all while filling replaced.

This dental practice is good. I rang them out of the blue to get my teeth cleaned. I had not had my teeth cleaned in over a year, as I had jaw surgery last year. They were very meticulous. Obviously it’s slightly unpleasant, given the nature of the service, but the dentist was patient and kind, giving me breaks as needed. My teeth look a lot better now and I will be returning in six months for another clean. The receptionist is also very nice. My first visit here and I was happy.

Had to attend Howick Dental clinic for an emergency chipped tooth which was beautifully fixed. Dr. Himani was patient at every step and despite of emergency squeeze in, she answered all my questions regarding Invisalign treatment in such a detailed way as no other dentist I had visited before in Australia had done. can't say enough good things about Howick Dental Surgery! I was in excruciating pain due to a severe infection over the weekend, and no other dentist was open. Fortunately, I found Howick Dental Surgery online and was able to book an appointment at 2:30 am on a Saturday for Sunday morning.

My daughter had to have 4 teeth removed for the stage of her braces, she is 12 and was obviously nervous but the dentist and the assistant went above and beyond to make sure she knew what was happening ever step of the way, they held her hand and wiped the few tears she had away.
